Acupuncture & Reflexology for Children
Pediatrics acupuncture has long been recognised as an important branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In Western society, acupuncture, reflexology and nutritional therapy are used successfully in the treatment of babies, children and teenagers. These therapies offer a safe and effective mode of treatment for many children's diseases.
The Treatment of Babies & Children:
- The diagnosis of babies and children follows the same pattern as adults, we look, hear, ask and feel and tailor the treatment to a babys' or childs' presenting condition. The sessions are gentle and sensitive and in our experience we have found that children respond very quickly to a treatment programme. We often incorporate reflexology, massage, palpation and warming techiques like moxibustion to aid recovery.
- A parent or guardian must be present if the child is under the age of 16 and a consent form must be signed. In the treatment of babies and small children, they will be held or sit on the parent/guardians knee.
